My bears are all "one of a kind", designed by me and generally made from mohair or alpaca - which I just love to hoard. I also enjoy dyeing my own fabric and find I usually get motivated to do so whilst cooking the evening meals (naturally no one willingly eats the same in this house, so the process can be somewhat tedious!) - the resulting combination is sometimes interesting to say the least! The bears are all cotter-pin jointed and have glass eyes. I use quality polyester for stuffing and steel shot and/or polyester beads to weight either their feet or bellies. Although I may often use the same pattern, I never get two ending up looking the same, despite trying intentionally to do so on several occasions! I tend to wax most of the noses, which are all hand stitched usually with several colours. Each bear comes with a sewn in label and a laminated swing tag. My production rate is very slow.... my own fault, I have so many projects on the go at one time. I view each newly completed bear as a special achievement!
Because of the components used, my bears are unsuitable for children under the age of 14.
